Description

This is a six-minute audio extract from my short story "Hewers of Wood" that won a silver medal in Barbados' National Independence Festival of Creative Arts in 2011. The story's theme continues to be relevant. In a slightly modified form, the story is also available through the Barbados' National Cultural Foundation, in its ebook anthology "Winning Words".

#Expatriates #Caribbean #foreign assignment Have you had the privilege of living or working in the Caribbean for several years before returning home to the EU, UK, US, or Canada? Are you expecting to take up a new assignment in the Caribbean after completing your present overseas assignment? Then you will likely want to follow the stories that my company, Triwindjana Audiotales, produces. I will be sharing them on this site over time. Currently, a number of stories that I have already written and were published, or won awards, are available here for your enjoyment. I am currently working on a new series of Caribbean-related podcasts, one dealing with vaccines, as a fellow on the International Women’s Media Foundation Global Health Reporting Initiative. Please do take the time to enjoy some of what I have shared on this site. If you enjoy it, please do follow me here and consider contributing your financial support. Thank you for whatever form of support you give to my work.
